The 26th World Road Congress
Connecting Cultures, Enabling Economies
Since the first World Road Congress held in Paris in 1908, PIARC has organised Congresses every four years in a member country with the aim of sharing worldwide techniques and experiences in the field of road infrastructures and road transport.
The 26th Congress theme is ‘Connecting Cultures, Enabling Economies’.
For thousands of years roads have played an integral part in connecting cultures and enabling economies. Roads are essential, economically, socially and culturally.
Roads provide for local, regional and international connections. They enable us to put goods on shelves and to take our children to school.
Around the world road administrations are adapting to today’s and tomorrow’s challenges and we look forward to you discussing these challenges in Abu Dhabi in October 2019.
The congress will be available in four languages:
English, French, Spanish and Arabic will be used as official languages of the 26th World Road Congress and simultaneous interpretation services will be provided in the plenary and technical sessions.
