Private Land Utilisation as Paid Public Parking

Through this service, individuals and business owners can request converting private pieces of land into paid public parking or valet parking.

Process description

Please follow the steps below:

  1. Visit one of the Department of Transport's Customer Care Centers
  2. Fill the application form and submit the required documents.
  3. Pay the required fees.
  4. Receive the permit from DoT. 

Required documents

  1. A detailed request letter addressed to the Department of Transport: Original.
  2. Valid commercial license or preliminary approval from the Department of Economic Development (DED): Copy.
  3. A land lease contract or no objection letter from the owner: Copy.
  4. Site plan issued by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City (ADM): Original or Copy.
  5. Graphic illustration for the movement of the vehicles showing the entrance, exit and the number of parking bays, prepared by a consultant or specialist: Copy.

Fees

  1. Application Fees: AED200.
  2. Permit issuance: AED5,000.
  3. Removal or replacement of an existing paid parking bay to create an entrance and/or exit of the site if needed: AED30,000 (per parking bay.)
  4. Insurance deposit (refundable): AED30,000.
