The Integrated Transport Center Implements 3424 Surface Parking Bays in Four Sectors in Abu Dhabi
 
The Integrated Transport Center (ITC) announced the implementation of 3424 standard parking bays in sectors E41, W11, W36 and W39 in Abu Dhabi starting from November 12, 2017 as part of the efforts dedicated to reduce non-residence congestions among parkings that will be available for the residence. In addition, it will improve the road safety and pedestrian access and the general apperance of Abu Dhabi.
 
To that regard, Mr. Mohammed Hamad Al Muhairi, Deputy General Manager of the Integrated Transport Center, Head of Traffic and Parking Team stated that the implementation included 1547 parking bays in Sector E41. Of which, there are 1234 standard parking bays, 310 premium parking, two fire hydrant and one parking for the Determined Ones. The sector is located in the area that is bordered by Miskani Street in the North, Sultan bin Zayed the First Street in the South, Dhafeer Street in the East and Rabdan Street in the West. In Sector W11, that is located in the area bordered by Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street in the North, Sultan bin Zayed the First Street in the South, Al Falah Street in the East and Zayed the First Street in the West. The Sector included 884 standard parking bays, nine fire hydrant, two for the Determined Ones. Sector W36 that is bordered by Al Jazza Street in the North, King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Street in the South, Mileih Street in the East and Zayed the First Street in the West. There are 254 standard parking bays. Sector W39 included 722 standard parking bays and six parking bays dedicated to the Determined Ones. The area is bordered by Al Bateen Street in the north, King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Street in the East, Al Yasat Street in the East and Mileih Street in the West.
 
Al Muhairi affirmed that the aim of such implementation is to offer solutions to parking bays issues in which lead to maintain the traffic flow and decrease illegal parking issues. He also said that it is illegal to park on yellow and grey markings, in the middle of the road, double-parking, Drop off and Pick up points, pedestrian crossings, access points and fire hydrants. In addition to that, inspectors will be available in the aforementioned sectors to assure following the regulations.
