The objectives of The Design Code for Maritime Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi are to provide the owners, designers, developers, builders and operators of waterfront developments with a basic, essential maritime code which can be compared to most internationally recognised benchmarks that are necessary for the orderly and organised development of maritime structures in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
 
The Design Code for Maritime Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi applies to the structure up to and including the main deck level. The aim of the design of maritime structures covered by this Code is to provide designs for structures that are stable, provide strength against ultimate load conditions and remain serviceable while being used for their intended function.
