The Aviation Sector in the Department of Transport (DoT) plays a vital role in developing and  supporting a world class aviation industry in Abu Dhabi.

Mission

Regulate, plan and develop an efficient and well-integrated aviation transport system that serves the public interest through effective economic regulation, securing global connectivity and achieving international compliance which leads to a safe, secure and environmentally responsible aviation sector.

Roles and responsibilities

• Develop, implement ,oversee and review the aviation policy and regulations.
• Create and sustain the connectivity of Abu Dhabi.
• Oversee strategic planning of the aviation industry in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
• Develop and enhance systems and processes to provide timely and accurate monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of sector performance.  
• Facilitate sustainable development of the aviation sector by coordinating effectively with GCAA and other stakeholders

The mandate of the Aviation Sector in the Department of Transport ranges from developing and overseeing the application of aviation policies and regulations to coordinating with the relevant stakeholders. Responsibilities assigned to this Sector have been allocated to four divisions that work together to achieve the desired objectives.
